SHUT-OFF DAMPER

Shut-off dampers are used to stop the air flow in air intake grilles in ducts. They may be required for safety reasons as a fire protection component, since they isolate sections of air conditioning or ventilation systems in the event of a fire. They are designed for open or closed position with manual or automatic operation. Shut-off dampers are available with remote electric, pneumatic (linear or rotary) or manual actuators. If equipped with an automatic control device, they are operated by means of a remote electric or pneumatic signal (usually from a fire damper installed in the same duct).
